Pricing

SEVA Self-Care Workshop (3 hours) is $50.

SEVA Stress Release Workshop (6 hours) is $100.

Regular one-day workshops (6-8 hours) are $145.

Two-day workshops (12 hours) are $295.

Three-day workshops (18 hours) are $500.

Four-day workshops are $550.  If taught by Aminah Raheem they are $600.

Five-day workshops are $625.

Discounts

If you sign up for a future class while taking a class, there is a $25 discount. You may repeat any class for half price.

Discounts are not available for SEVA classes, Introduction to Soul Lightening Acupressure, or Practicums. Prices are already reduced for these workshops.

Students with severe financial difficulties may be eligible for a payment plan. Contact our registrar for details.

Discounts are not available for classes taught at The Esalen Institute and at some residential classes.

Deposits and Payment Plan

If you would like to take a class and are not able to pay in full at that time, we will hold your place in class with a small non-refundable deposit and the option of a flexible payment plan. Deposit for a one-day class is $25, a two-day class is $50, etc. ($25 per class day).

  1. Payments may be made in any frequency and amount (by credit card or by check). Please send checks to: SLI, PO Box 17186, Richmond, VA 23226.
  2. All balances are due to the Registrar one week prior to the beginning of class. If this balance is not received, your credit card on file will be charged automatically.

All registrations will be reviewed 30 days prior to the class. If there are insufficient registrations to hold the class, it may be cancelled. You will be notified either way. We do not advise your making non-refundable travel arrangements before you receive this notice.

Registering on line? No Problem! All you have to do is click on the registration link for the class. Select the option labeled “deposit”, which will list the appropriate amount for that class. There is also another option labeled “Payment”. When it is time to make another payment, you can fill in the exact amount that you want pay at that time.

The remainder of the fee is due one week prior to the beginning of the workshop and will be charged automatically to the credit card on file at that time.

Cancellation Policy

Acknowledging those who must make travel plans early, we are making every effort to avoid canceling or changing the dates of our workshops. The decision to hold the class is based upon a minimum enrollment. Please note that those classes with very low enrollment may be canceled five weeks prior to the class.

In order to serve you better, we highly encourage you to take advantage of our discounts for early registration. We also strongly recommend that you not purchase non-refundable airfare until the class is confirmed 4 weeks prior. If Soul Lightening cancels a workshop, you will receive a full refund of your workshop fee. Soul Lightening is not responsible for any other expenses, such as airfare, that you incur for canceled workshops.

Refund Policy

If, for any reason, Soul Lightening elects to cancel a workshop, you will receive a full refund of the workshop fee.

If you elect to withdraw from a workshop more than 30 days prior to the first day of class, you will receive a full refund, minus a $50 administrative fee.

If you elect to withdraw from a workshop less than 30 days prior to the first day of class, your tuition will be refunded as follows:

  • If your space in the workshop is filled by another student, you will receive a full refund, minus a $50 administrative fee.
  • If your space in the workshop is not filled by another student, you will receive a 50% refund.
  • If you are a “no-show” for the workshop, you will not receive a refund.
  • Under exigent circumstances, Soul Lightening may elect to waive cancellation fees (i.e. sudden severe illness, death in the immediate family, etc.). The decision will be made on a case by case basis.

Scope of Practice Guidance prior to Certification

for Students of Clinical Acupressure (CA), Process Acupressure (PA), Acupressure for Anyone or Seva

  • Informal Practice: All Soul Lightening Acupressure students are highly encouraged to practice the skills and protocols they have been taught at any workshop with friends and family at any time.
  • Professional Practice: Attendance at any workshop or series of workshops does not, by itself, qualify you to practice this work professionally. Professional practice implies that you charge a fee for your work.
  • License to touch: Soul Lightening requires that anyone who professionally practices and charges for any form of Soul Lightening Acupressure must meet the laws of their state of residence for doing hands-on work (i.e. “license to touch).
  • Who can charge a fee? Anyone wishing to charge a fee for practicing any form of Soul Lightening Acupressure (PA, CA, Seva, Acupressure for Anyone) is strongly encouraged to enroll in one of our certification programs. Upon enrollment you will be assigned a mentor, and your name will be listed on our website as a student in that program.
  • Licensed practitioners: If you are a licensed massage therapist, PT, or other licensed bodywork practitioner, nurse, physician or psychotherapist, you may start practicing this work with your clients and charge a fee commensurate with the rate you would charge for any new work.
  • Unlicensed practitioners: If you are an unlicensed practitioner with an existing private practice, and you meet your state requirements for hands-on work, you may start practicing this work with your clients and charge a fee commensurate with the rate you would charge for any new work.
  • New Students: If you are new to bodywork, or if you feel unsure about your level of proficiency as a Soul Lightening Acupressure practitioner, you should talk with your teacher or mentor before beginning to charge your clients.
  • Certification: Soul Lightening International offers certification programs in PA, CA, and Advanced PA. Go to www.SoulLightening.com for more info.

Disclaimer for CA and PA certification students: You may not advertise yourself as a PA or CA practitioner until or unless you are certified in PA or CA. Acupressure for Anyone and/or Seva practitioners must also be PA or CA certified in order to advertise. Until you are certified, any of your promotional material that mentions PA, CA, Acupressure for Anyone, Seva, or Soul Lightening must clearly display the following disclaimer:

“______________ is currently a student of (Process Acupressure, Clinical Acupressure, Soul Lightening Acupressure, etc.) working toward certification under the supervision of a faculty mentor. For more information please contact Soul Lightening International at 650-961-8025.”

Disclaimer for non-certified practitioners: If you are non-certified and you are not a certification student, you may not advertise yourself as a practitioner, however you may list the work you do (e.g. PA, CA, Seva, Acupressure for Anyone, etc.) on your printed materials or online for informational purposes, with the following disclaimer:

“___________________ has studied (PA, CA, etc) through Soul Lightening International, but is not a certified practitioner. Please visit www.SoulLightening.com for more information.”
